How to make your biodata
- Choose the language. Switching later keeps what you have typed and changes only the labels.
- Pick the top line, such as ॥ श्री गणेशाय नमः ॥, or write your own, or choose none.
- Add a recent photo. It is placed at the top right and cropped neatly.
- Fill in the rows. Leave a row empty and it does not appear. Type over a label to change it, or add a row for anything else.
- Choose a design and download. Use the JPG to share on WhatsApp and the PDF to print.
What to include
- Personal: name, date, time and place of birth, height, education, occupation and income. Add religion, caste, gotra, rashi or manglik only if your family wants them.
- Family: parents’ names and occupations, brothers and sisters, and your native place.
- Contact: a phone number of a parent or yourself, and the city. A full home address can wait until families have spoken.
Tips for a good biodata
- Keep it to one page. Long paragraphs are rarely read.
- Use a clear, recent photo with a plain background and good light.
- Write facts plainly. “M.Sc. Computer Science, working at a software company in Pune” says more than a list of adjectives.
- Check spellings of names and dates twice; they are the first things people notice.
Your details stay with you
A biodata holds personal family details and a photo. Here it is made entirely on your phone or computer; nothing is uploaded. The draft (without the photo) can be kept on your device so you can come back to it; untick the option if the device is shared.
