How to add your name and date
- Add a recent photo: plain light background, face straight to the camera.
- Type your name exactly as you are filling it in the form. Capitals are on by default because most forms show names that way.
- Check the date. It starts as today; change it to the day the photo was actually taken.
- Pick the size, or type your own pixels and maximum KB.
- Use Zoom and Move so your face fills the photo area, then press Make photo.
Why forms ask for this
Printing the name and date on the photo makes it harder to reuse an old photo or someone else’s, and lets the person checking your documents match the photo to the form at a glance. Some national entrance exams and recruitment forms have asked for exactly this. Whether yours does is written in the “photograph” section of its information bulletin.
What usually counts as correct
- The name and date sit below the face on a plain white strip, not on top of the face.
- The text is black, printed and easy to read. Handwriting on the photo is not the same thing.
- The date is the day the photo was taken, not the day you fill the form. Many forms want a photo taken within the last few months.
- The face, with the strip, still fills most of the frame. If your face looks too small, increase Zoom.
Size and KB
The strip takes part of the photo’s height, so the total stays at the size the form asks for. Passport size at 300 DPI is 413 × 531 pixels. For forms with small limits, such as 10–200KB, set Max KB to the form’s limit and FileFitly lowers the quality only as much as needed.
If the form also has a minimum KB, or only needs a normal photo without the name, use the Photo & Signature Resizer instead.
Need prints too?
Download the photo, then put several copies on one sheet with Passport Photo Sheet to print at home or at a photo shop. Keep the same photo for the exam day if the bulletin asks you to carry copies.
