Three ways to split
| Mode | You type | You get |
|---|---|---|
| Pick pages | 1-3, 5 | One PDF with pages 1, 2, 3 and 5 |
| Split by ranges | 1-4, 5-8 | Two PDFs: pages 1–4 and pages 5–8 |
| Every page separately | nothing | One PDF per page |
When the result is more than one file, they come together in a single ZIP, so you download once instead of tapping a dozen buttons.
Typing page numbers
- A dash makes a range:
2-5means pages 2, 3, 4 and 5. - A comma separates parts:
1, 3, 7means only those three pages. - You can mix them:
1-2, 6, 9-10. endmeans the last page:6-endkeeps everything from page 6 onward.
The page count of your file is shown under its name, so you know the highest number you can use.
Common reasons to split
One certificate out of a big scan
You scanned all your school and college documents into one PDF. A form now wants just the Class 10 marksheet. Pick that one page, then use Compress PDF if the form has a size limit.
Uploading in parts
Some portals cap each upload at 2MB but allow several uploads. Split a long document into ranges that each fit, then compress each part if needed.
Sharing just what matters
Sending a 60-page report when someone needs the three pages of results is a small unkindness. Pick those pages and send only them.
Opening the ZIP file

- iPhone: tap the ZIP in the Files app and it unpacks into a folder.
Does splitting change quality?
No. Pages are copied as they are. Text stays selectable, images stay sharp and the pages look exactly like they did in the original.
