How to make your resume
- Write your name, the job you want, and how to reach you.
- Add a two or three line summary: what you are good at, and the kind of work you want.
- Add each job with the main things you did, one point per line. Start each point with an action: “Filed monthly GST returns for 40 clients”.
- Add education. Freshers should tick I’m a fresher so education comes first.
- Add skills, projects, certificates and languages, pick a design and download.
What “ATS-friendly” means here
Many companies and job portals read resumes with software before a person sees them. That software needs real text. Resumes made as pictures, or with text inside tables and graphics, often come through empty or jumbled. This tool writes a PDF with real, selectable text in a simple one-column order: heading, summary, experience, education, skills. You can check by selecting text in the PDF.
Tips that get more calls
- Keep it to one page unless you have many years of experience.
- Use numbers: “handled 120 customer calls a day” beats “handled customer calls”.
- Match the words in the job advert. If it asks for “Tally” and “GST returns”, use those words.
- Use a professional email address, ideally your name.
- Save it as a PDF named with your name, which the download does for you.
Photo or no photo?
Many employers in India still expect a photo, while most companies in the US, UK and Canada prefer resumes without one. The photo is optional under More options.
