How we make FileFitly

You are trusting a website with documents that matter, so here is exactly how the tools and the pages around them are made.

Who is behind it

FileFitly is an independent project made in India. It is not owned by a large company, and no investor or advertiser decides what goes on the site.

We do not invent authors, experts, reviews or quotes. If a page says who wrote it, that person is real.

Why the site exists

To get a file accepted on the first try: the right size, the right format, readable, and without handing a private document to a stranger’s server. Pages are written to help the person using the tool, not to fill a search results page. When one tool already does a job well, we improve it rather than publish another page for the same thing.

How the tools are built and tested

  • Everything runs in your browser. The heavy lifting uses well-known open-source libraries (PDF.js, pdf-lib, Tesseract and others, licences listed here) plus our own code.
  • Tested with real file types. Before a tool goes live, and again after every change, it is run on test files in every format it accepts: scanned and text PDFs, iPhone HEIC photos, screenshots, phone videos and more.
  • Results are checked outside FileFitly. Output files are opened in separate PDF readers, image viewers and video players, and their size, pages and pixels are measured, so “under 100 KB” means under 100 KB.
  • Phone first. Every page is checked at phone, tablet and desktop sizes, from very small screens to large monitors, for layout, tap targets and loading speed.
  • Honest limits. If a browser cannot do something (for example, some browsers cannot make MP4 video), the tool says so and explains what to do, instead of failing silently.

How guides and tool pages are written

  • Instructions come from actually doing the task in the tool. Each step is tried before it is published.
  • Rules that change, such as exam photo sizes or upload limits, are checked against the official notice or the service’s own help pages, and the page shows when it was last updated. Always follow your own notice if it differs.
  • Use of AI: we use AI writing tools to help draft and tidy text, much as you might use a spell checker. They do not decide what we recommend. A person reviews every page, fact-checks every number and claim, and edits the final wording before it goes live.
  • Titles and descriptions say what the page really does. No fake urgency and no promises a tool cannot keep.

Mistakes and corrections

If something is wrong or out of date, tell us. We check it, fix the page and change its updated date. Mistakes in a tool’s output (a file that comes out too big, a format that will not open) are treated as bugs and fixed first.

Advertising

FileFitly is free because it shows ads. Advertisers never see your files and cannot buy a recommendation. We do not run sponsored reviews.
