How to join a photo and signature
- Add your photo: recent, plain light background, face straight on.
- Add your signature: sign in black or blue ink on white paper and take a photo of it in daylight.
- Pick a layout. Photo above signature is what most forms with a combined upload show in their sample.
- Type the maximum KB from the form, and a minimum KB if it has one (in More options).
- Press Join and save and upload the JPG.
When a form asks for this
Most recruitment and admission forms take the photo and signature as two separate files. A few, including some state recruitment, school, scholarship and offline-application portals, show a single box with the photo above and the signature below, and accept one image. The form’s instructions, or its sample image, tell you which one you need. If it asks for two files, use the Photo & Signature Resizer instead.
What makes it accepted
- The photo area should be mostly your face and shoulders. FileFitly fills the photo box and trims the sides evenly.
- The signature should be clear and fill most of its strip. Empty paper around it is trimmed automatically.
- The file must be JPG and within the KB range. FileFitly lowers the quality only as much as needed, and pads the file if it is under a minimum.
- Some forms want the name and date under the photo. Add it in More options.
Getting a clean signature
Sign a little bigger than usual, with a pen that writes dark. Photograph the paper flat, without your shadow on it. If the paper still looks grey, keep “Make the signature paper pure white” on. For a transparent signature to paste into documents, use Signature Background Remover.
Questions people ask
Which layout should I choose?
Use the one shown in your form's sample image. Photo above signature is the most common.
Can I set an exact size in pixels?
Yes. Choose Custom size and type the total width and height.
My form also has a minimum KB. Can I meet it?
Yes. Open More options and type the minimum. The file is padded to reach it without changing the picture.
Is it uploaded anywhere?
No. Both images stay on your device.
