Fix size, pixels and format in one step
Open Photo & Signature Resizer →1. The file is too big
The most common one. A phone photo is 2–5MB and the form wants 20–50KB. Error messages say things like “file size exceeds limit” or “maximum 50KB allowed”.
Fix: compress to a number just under the maximum. Compress Image lets you type that number directly.
2. The file is too small
Surprisingly common with signatures. Many forms have a minimum, such as 10KB, and a clean signature on white paper at 140 × 60 pixels can easily come out at 5–7KB. The message usually says “file size should be between 10KB and 20KB”.
Fix: do not add noise or scribbles to make it bigger. The Photo & Signature Resizer pads the file invisibly to reach the minimum while the image stays identical.
3. The pixel size is wrong
The KB is fine but the form says “invalid dimensions” or “image should be 200 × 230 pixels”. Some portals check exact pixels; others check a range.
Fix: resize to the exact width and height. Cropping to the right shape first stops your face from being squashed. The resizer does both.
4. It is a HEIC, PNG or WebP file
iPhones save photos as HEIC. Screenshots are PNG. Images saved from websites are often WebP. Most forms accept only JPG or JPEG, and some say “invalid file type” while others just do nothing when you press upload.
Fix: convert to JPG with Image Converter. Simply renaming a file from .heic to .jpg does not convert it and will still fail.
5. The photo is not clear enough
The upload succeeds, but the application is rejected later because the face is dark, blurred or tiny in the frame. This is checked by a person, not by the website.
Fix: retake in daylight, facing a window, against a plain light wall. Your face should fill most of the frame.
6. Rules about appearance
Caps, dark glasses, selfies at an angle, filters and photos of a printed photo are common reasons for rejection at verification. Many notifications also ask for a recent photo and expect you to carry the same one to the exam.
Fix: follow the photo rules in your notification exactly, and keep a few printed copies of the same photo.
7. The signature is in capital letters or unclear
Several recruitment bodies state that a signature in block capitals is not valid. Faint pencil signatures, signatures on lined paper and signatures cut off at the edge also get flagged.
Fix: sign normally with a dark pen on plain white paper, at your usual size, and let the resizer whiten the background.
8. The wrong file in the wrong box
A signature uploaded as the photo, or the photo uploaded twice. When files are named IMG_20240612_093115.jpg, it is an easy mistake.
Fix: name files clearly before you start, for example photo.jpg and signature.jpg, and look at the preview the form shows after uploading.
When the upload button does nothing
If none of the above applies and the page simply will not upload:
- Try a desktop or laptop browser. Some portals work poorly on mobile.
- Use Chrome or Edge with no “data saver” or “lite mode” turned on.
- Avoid peak hours near the last date, when servers are overloaded.
- Check that the file name has no special characters such as # or &.
